Nytt hotell på Lindholmen

Ett hotell är ett gammalt önskemål från kommunala Älvstranden Utveckling, för att ytterligare sätta fart på tillväxten i Lindholmen Science Park, där ju även storföretaget Ericsson har sin anläggning i Göteborg.

Nu tillförs 266 rum i en hotellbyggnad som beskrivs som ett landmärke som kommer att ”sväva ut över en av hamnbassängerna”.

Hotellet bygg bredvid huvudbyggnaden på Lindholmen och får anslutning dit via en glasad gång.

Varumärket Radisson Blu ägs av det börsnoterade hotellföretaget Rezidor, men det blir Gävlebaserade hotelloperatören Winn som står för driften

- Det blir bland de större hotellen i Göteborg, säger Winns vd Anders Junger.

Det finns dock några som är större. Det nya hotellet i posthuset blir på över 500 rum och det befintliga Radisson Blu liger på 440 rum.

Anders Junger ser ett stort behov av hotellkapacitet just på Lindholmen.

- Företagen på Lindholmen har en internationell karaktär med många inresande både från Asien och USA som ofta bor längre perioder. De har ett otroligt stort behov av hotellrum.

Det blir också ett samarbete med den stora nya konferensanläggningen som Chalmers har byggt i den nyligen färdigställda andra etappen av Lndholmens huvudbyggnad.

Anders Jungers frågetecken kring marknadssituationen gäller helgerna och sommartid. Det är ganska tyst och stilla på Lindholmen Science Park när företagen inte har verksamhet.

- Vi hoppas kunna sätta hotellet på kartan dels genom att det sticker ut arkitektoniskt och marknadsföra det som exotiskt att komma till Göteborg och bo havsnära. Älvsnabbens hållplats ligger 60 meter från entrén. Det finns en attraktionskraft på privatmarknaden på det sättet.
